Iran Coronavirus Contest announces finalist titles

Iran’s We Defeat Coronavirus Int’l Cartoon Contest publishes list of finalists.

The organizers of Iran’s “We Defeat Coronavirus International Cartoon Contest” have published the list of the finalists.

The list contains 47 works with 15 of the finalists selected from Iran.

Abdullah Ibnu Thalhah and Armen Hamonangan from Indonesia, Agenor Bottene Neto, Bruno Luup, Cau Gomez and Dalcio Machado from Brazil, Ares from Cuba, Costel Patrascan from Romania, Darko Drljevic from Montenegro, and Dmytro Skazheny from the Ukraine are some of the foreign finalists.

The Iranian finalists include names such as Ali Radmand, Ali Rastrou, Alireza Pakdel, Mehdi Akbari, Mahmoud Azadnia, Mahnaz Yazdani, Majid Amini, Mansoureh Dehqani, and Mehdi Azizi.

Turkish cartoonist Eray Ozbek presides over the international jury, which is made up of cartoonists Spiro Radulovic from Serbia, Nikola Vorontsov from Russia, Liuyi Wang from China, and Marcio Leite from Brazil.

The jury for the national section is formed by Mohammad-Hossein Niroumand, Bahram Azimi, Masoud Shojaee-Tabatabaee and Salman Mohazzabieh.

The contest is organized by Iran’s Art Bureau in collaboration with the country's Health Ministry.

Iran with 436 cartoonists, Turkey with 82, India with 75, Indonesia with 70, Brazil with 48, and Russia with 30, have the most participants at the event.

The organizers are yet to release any date for the closing and awarding ceremony.
